One of my finds at the
Alameda Antique Faire last Sunday was this Carryola portable phonograph from 1926-1927. When I brought it home I noticed that -- even in 1920s standards -- the playback was way too fast. So, in a God-only-knows-how-I-did-it way, I managed to open the thing up and figure out how to fix the speed issues. There's just something way cool about fixing parts that are covered in grease.
