MT promotional news.

Part of the reason for my absence from dollarshort.org is that I've been busy working on the movabletype.org redesign. Also, we've just released MT version 2.2. Along with MySQL support, we offer a new feature called TrackBack. We're excited about the feature particularly because of its potential -- we can't wait to see what people will be able to do with it.

Because TrackBack seems to require a fairly large user-base to be most useful, we're hoping that other developers will want to integrate the feature (or at least compatibility) into their own tools.

But for present, I'm just hoping to get some sleep.

Not another F**king CMS!

Tom comments on "four potentially dangerous subjects for debate" and one of those topics, intermixed with party politics and abortion (but seemingly as hotly debated these days) is weblogging content management systems.

Okay, so there are a lot of options.

Here's one more:

MOVABLE TYPE

Currently, the MOVABLE TYPE site just houses general info about the system.

If you haven't guessed it already, Ben and I are developing this system. What started really as a CMS for dollarshort (the conversion is coming with the redesign) is now growing large enough to merit a release to the general weblogging population.

We're planning on releasing the thing in mid to late September.

And we're quite excited about it.

We hope others will be as well.
