After seeing Andy's take on the next three attraction-based Disney movies, I couldn't resist from creating my own dream movie poster. And don't think that I don't already have a pitch in my mind. The Tiki Room! is sort of Jurassic Park and The Birds meets Norma Rae. But, you know, with really mad birds who are tired of performing on demand.
I think it has potential.
We saw The Pirates of the Caribbean on Friday, and I must say I enjoyed it far more than I thought I would. I had no plans to see the movie but after reading a couple glowing reviews about the film and Johnny Depp, I couldn't resist. If you're a fan of the ride, you'll certainly appreciate the references. The art direction was fantastic and the subtle references were extremely amusing. And, Johnny Depp was Johnny Depp, which is always worth the price of admission.

"The Tiki Room!" sounds interesting, it does got somewhat of a potential. And for the Pirates of the Carribean, well... I wish i could see it too! It sounds so good. ;)

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed Pirates. We tried to see it last night but it was sold out. I'm looking forward to it. My first visit to Pirates of the Caribbean in the real Disneyland (CA) was in 1976. I've been over a dozen times since and twice to Florida. Last visit was in May of this year. I can't get enough Disney :)

You've almost got me convinced of going to the movies to see Pirates. We'll see if I hold up. I wasn't thinking of going to see it either, but I'm hearing good reviews by critics and bloggers alike.

The Tiki Room! I'd love to see THAT.

I liked it too and normally I don't go for that sort of movie. Johnny Depp was so funny in this movie, quirky. :) Certainly made the movie for me.

I've never been to Disneyland nor Disney World, so I totally missed the ride references in the movie. But I must say that the movie did indeed shiver me timbers.

According to Dave Letterman, another flick in the Disney Attraction series will be "Standing in Line for Two and a Half Hours: The Movie."
I would also like to submit "Fifteen Dollars for a Hot Dog!?" for Disney's consideration. I think that one could be even more scary than "Haunted Mansion."

Dave. Your idea sparked an idea in my head that has led to the most hideous disaster I have ever created in Photoshop. If you wish to see it, it's right here.

Your blog looks just great. I'd love to put images into the body of a post, like the one here--can you tell me how to do it? New to blogging, inspired by your work. Thanks.

(and by "hideous disaster," I am referring to my lack of photoshop skills. The idea itself was good.)

Very nice, Mena. I'd love to see "Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln" turned into an action-packed cybernetic gore-fest.

And, on second thought, shouldn't it be called "The Tiki, Tiki, Tiki, Tiki, Tiki Movie"?

And they left the movie open for a sequel! If you stay and watch through the entire credits, there is a tiny clip at the very end.

Hi Mena, Terri MacMillan (total MT/TypePad evangelist in Tokyo) here. Speaking of tiki, I was wondering if you knew about the late, great Jamie LePage's Spectropop site: seems like it might be right up your alley.

"What's that noise, Larry?" "Keep quiet, Marsha! The flowers always croon . . . right before they strike!"
