» Donating from jogin.com - a day in the life
It's gotten very common for free sites to include donating possibilities via PayPal or Amazon. So common, in fact, that it is no longer something I even notice. It's become one of those things that my eyes just skim over and away from. Even though I vi... [Read More]

this is a test

I just moved most of my blog from blogger to MT. Will get to donating as soon as I settle some things. It's peanuts, but lots of peanuts means lots of monkeys. And lots of monkeys solve lots of problems.

I think.

I didn't mean to sound like I was hinting for money in that post -- though it does sound like it. Rackspace costs $250 a month for a dedicated server -- so it's just something you don't enter lightly.

And it seems as sometimes comments are working.

i know rackspace has been really good about doing deals for community spaces - and surely MT has the traffic/community they would want exposure for. it's probably worth exploring different options with them if you can find the right folks over there to speak with.

Mena

Judith -- thanks for the tip.

Patty

I have heard good things about Rackspace too, post a hosting request over at http://www.webhostingtalk.com and the people over there might be able to swing you a good deal :)

yaccs is having comment problems all over today. most people using this commenting system have had the comment option removed from their site.

Ugh. I swear that the pair.com thing has gotten worse in the last month or so.

CSRs are very "it's not our problem" in response to pleas for help. Told 'em that they can expect this a lot more as MT continues to catch on. Nothing. No error log access either. Jerks. Got yr "Internal Server Error" right here.

Too bad...otherwise they're great hosts and a bargain. Migration for me would be a grande headache, but I'm open at this point.

mihow

I love, love, love my host.

http://phpwebhosting.com/

But my boy writes all my php and comments and such they take it from there. Great hosts. Never a problem. And they answer your emails and help you out when you need it.

Just thought I would share. :)

Personally, I've found 4webhostingto be pretty fantastic and I'd recommend them in a heartbeat to anyone considering a dedicated server.

Mike

I've been having more problems with 500 errors on pair lately, too, but I thought it was just me. I've actually upgraded my account level recently, too, assuming that would buy me some more leeway. No dice. I wish it was easier to share accounts with places like Rackspace. As much as I'd hate to leave pair after being there forever, this is getting annoying.

Mena

We've been on Pair for six years so we wanted to solve this problem; we never had a problem before. But, we do need a dedicated server an their options are really not desirable. For one, you can't have root access. So, we're going to make the move to Rackspace.

tomas

Well, if I had to pick only one, MT is who/what I'd donate to. MT is, no really, the to me most useful tool and concept that I use daily.
Expect a donation soon from me.

kiddo

Wow, I didn't know other people were experiencing problems with Pair lately. We use them at work and have been having *tons* of "Page cannot be displayed" errors lately. I thought it was just us...
