I think that I've run out of things to write about.
Either that or I'm too sick to concentrate.
It's funny -- it's really easy to forget how much the flu really knocks the wind out of you. And, because I refuse to take cold or flu medication (other than a rub of Vicks), I'm pretty much miserable unless I'm sleeping.
But sleeping -- that's not always easy, either.
Take last night.
I had one of my "waking dream" nights -- a horrible pattern of sleep that consists of being half awake while having the SAME EXACT DREAM the entire night.
Usually these occur when I'm sick or preoccupied with a deadline or large project.
And because one of the last things I did before going to bed was to attempt to read from The Fellowship of the Ring, my eight-hour waking dream had something to do with me throwing a party for the Hobbits.
So bear with me. I need to rest.

Try honey-lemon water? Drink it warm, it feels nice and un-stuffs your nose, AND it soothes a sore throat and cough.

I feel your pain [hack, wheeze, sniff].

Garlic works, too. The unfortunate side effect is that your significant other will stay at least 100 ft. away at all times.

Urgh. I get those awful dreams whenever I am sick or stressed out too. I hope you feel better. Was the party for the hobbits nice?

get well soon, Mena! +o)

Yes, get well soon! And that goes for your grandpa too.
I second andrea's hot honey lemonade plan--it really does help, and it is delicious! My mom always made quarts of it for me from the lemons in our yard when I was sick, and she said her mom did the same. More than 2 big glasses can get a little hard on your stomach, but it really helps soothe and hydrate you, and can be quite habit-forming. Get Ben to drink some too!

I have those dreams when I'm stressed (or sick), too! And it's worse because you're not feeling well and you get more stress from an unrestful night of repetitive dreams. Life can be so ironic sometimes.
Well, hope you do get some real rest soon. Take care.

Oh, and if you're onto Vicks only...try putting some boiling water on a pan, mix a teaspoonful of Vicks with it, grab a towel and inhale the vapors. It works wonders!
Get well soon! =)

Wow... I hate serial dreams like that. They make me all anxious.
Well, Mena... God Speed on your recovery.

Oh no! I'm sorryyou're not feeling well. :-(
Peppermint tea is my little treat when I'm sick. The peppermint clears the sinuses and helps settle your stomach.
Get better soon.

Thanks for the nice wishes and remedies, everyone. I have to say I'm feeling better today after using a Breate Right Strip while I slept.
Unfortunately Ben came down with the same cold. Fortunately, he "handles them better" than I do. I'm not sure if there's a slight in that comment hinting that I overplay my sickness, but I can say that this one hit me hard.

Oh, poor Mena! Get well soon!
I do that dreaming thing too, but I've never gotten anything near so pleasant as hobbits! Well, but I guess it wouldn't be pleasant, huh? *cringe*

I don't think I'd mind those nights so much if I dreamed of things such as hobbit parties. Mine usually involve debugging the same piece of code over and over...
I hope you're feeling better by now, Mena!
